Ayurvedic Recipes: Turmeric Latte
Turmeric is used in Ayurveda in many ways. If you missed my latest blog “Benefit’s of Turmeric in Ayurveda” please catch up HERE. As I promised in the blog, I am sharing turmeric latte recipes. This is very easy to make, also you can change some ingredients and have a variety of tastes so you never got bored. Having a turmeric latte is a good idea instead of having coffee sometimes.
INGREDIENTS
1 cup unsweetened almond or coconut milk
1 tablespoon fresh turmeric root
1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger root
1 cinnamon
Raw honey
Pinch of black pepper (optional)
Note: For Kapha aggravation, add black pepper.
METHOD
Make a paste with turmeric and ginger. Gently warm the almond or coconut milk in a small saucepan. Do not boil. Add the turmeric and ginger paste and cinnamon. Use a wire whisk or immersion blender to create a foam if you prefer. Stir in honey. Sprinkle with cinnamon, black pepper or turmeric if desired. Sip, savour & enjoy.
ALTERNATIVE: No honey, No sugar.
Banana Turmeric Latte
Put a ripe banana in a blender and mix with the latte without honey. It will be a good warm breakfast instead of a cold smoothie.
Banana Cacao Latte
I often mix it without honey with organic cacao powder and enjoy a hot chocolate banana taste. This is good for when you feel like something sweet instead of having chocolate. I’m sure your tummy will be satisfied with it!
